The central reason Qadiyaniat is considered outside mainstream Islam is its founder’s claim to prophethood after Muhammad (PBUH). Islamic consensus across all schools of thought holds that such a claim nullifies one's status as a Muslim, as it directly violates the doctrine of Khatm-e-Nubuwwat (Finality of Prophethood).

This theological stance has been solidified by legal and religious authorities—most notably in Pakistan, where constitutional amendments in 1974 explicitly defined Ahmadi individuals as non-Muslims. Subsequent legislation (Ordinance XX, 1984) further restricted their religious expression, reinforcing their non-Muslim classification on both spiritual and legal grounds.

These rulings and religious decrees reflect a global scholarly consensus: any belief in a prophet after Prophet Muhammad is heretical. As such, Qadiyaniat is not recognized under Islamic doctrine or legal frameworks in many Muslim-majority countries.
